- With your adult(s), visit the New Students page at MrSummersMusic.Weebly.com. Watch both videos, then read through the information below the videos.
- With your adult(s), visit our page at BePartoftheMusic.org and watch the "What is Band" video and watch at least three of the following Instrument Demonstration videos:
- Clarinet
- Euphonium
- Flute
- French Horn
- Oboe
- Saxophone
- Trombone
- Trumpet
- Tuba
- RETURNING students:
- With your adult(s), read through the blue syllabus booklet
- With your adult(s), fill out and sign the pink contract

- Symphonic Band members stand and introduce themselves - name, grade, instrument(s)
[5] Team Builder
- Shuffle around. When the music stops, immediately hold up 1 or 2 fingers:
- Symphonic Band members, hold up the number 2
- Beginning Band members, hold up the number 1
- Find the closest person near you with a different number of fingers
- If you are in Beginning Band, find a partner who is in Symphonic Band (look for someone with a 2)
- If you are in Symphonic Band, find a partner who is in Beginning Band (look for someone with a 1)
- Once you have found your partner, put your hands down. If you are not able to find a partner nearby, keep your fingers up and shuffle until you find someone.
- Once you have your partner, introduce yourselves to each other - name, grade, instrument(s)

- Imagine you have just been given one million dollars:
- How would you spend it?
- What would be the impact of the $1,000,000 on your life and the people around you?
- Write a one page response to the questions above. Your response to each question should be about 4-5 sentences (a paragraph).
- Make sure your name (first and last) is on your paper, then place it into the homework drawer for this class.
