Rain, Rain, Go Away...
Well, most of the rain seems to have abated. We've discovered two new leaks in our house, but otherwise we have weathered the storm ok. I hope you all have managed to stay dry, warm, and safe. Now that the clouds are parting, the snow-capped mountains are quite a sight to behold!
Since we are just so busy this season, I am going to try and send weekly updates to make sure everyone is in the loop as to what's going on. As most of you have figured out by now, I err on the side of overcommunicating rather than under-communicating.
Events!
Here is what's on the calendar for this week:
- Tuesday, February 13th - 5:30 p.m. - Booster Meeting - Room 92
- Wednesday, February 14th - 1:45 to 3:30 p.m. - Festival Band Rehearsal - Room 91
- Thursday, February 15th - 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. - Honor Band & Orchestra Rehearsal - Corvallis Middle School (Band in room 307, Orchestra in the MPR)

In Other News...
Beginning on Tuesday, February 13th, teachers across the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District will be adhering to our contractual obligations and not going above and beyond as we normally do. Hopefully this will only be temporary. Here is what that will look like for Band and Orchestra at Benton:
- Room 91 will be closed before school until 8:30 a.m.
- Room 91 will be closed during Nutrition
- Room 91 will be closed after school no later than 3:05 p.m.
- Free, on-demand instrument repairs will no longer be provided
- Grading of assignments may take a bit longer than usual as grading will occur only during contracted prep time
- Festival Band rehearsals will go on as planned as I have determined that postponing or canceling these rehearsals would simply be too disruptive
- As of now, I believe that Honor Band & Orchestra are unaffected; if this changes I will let you know
